Wellington School returns on

Fitness Room deep cleaning
As part of our summer deep cleaning
programme, the Fitness Room will be
closed on Monday 1 September from
9.00 am - 1.00 pm. The gym will
be open as normal 6.45 am - 9.00 am
and from 1.00 pm onwards. We
apologise for any inconvenience this
may cause. |

Come and try fencing
Wellington Swords are organising a
free taster session for anybody
wanting to try out the sport for the
first time. The session will take
place on Thursday 28 August
between 6.00 - 8.00 pm. Contact Jane

Final week of Kids Camps
The PRSC Kids Camps programme has
entered its final week of
activities. There are still places
available for our Pre-Season
Training Camp with coaching in a
range of sports including rugby,
hockey, fencing and handball.

Pre-Games Training Camps Guide goes
live
The London 2012 online Pre-Games
Training Camp Guide was launched on
Thursday 14 August in Beijing. The
new website outlines details of over
600 high-class facilities across the
UK, including the Princess Royal
Sports Complex, offering their
services as training venues for
international teams in the run-up to
the London 2012 Games.

2008 Wellington Summer Spectacular
The Wellington Federation of Sports
Clubs has announced that it is to
organise a family fun day at
Wellington Rugby Club on Bank
Holiday Monday 25 August from 12.00
- 4.30 pm. The event will feature
displays from Wellington Whirlwinds
and Wellington Swords as well as an
It's a Knock-out competition. Entry
is £1.50 for adults and free for
children.

Fitness programme change
There is a change to the programme
of fitness classes from September.
BodyMoves with June Billington,
running from 6.00-7.00pm on
Wednesday evenings will not
recommence in September. June's
Tuesday class, Stretch and Tone,
will continue as normal from Tuesday
9 September. |

PRSC blog launched
There is a new addition to the PRSC
online presence from today as we
launch our new blog at
www.wellington-sport.blogspot.com.
We will be using this new blog to
keep visitors updated on what is
going on behind the scenes here at
the Sports Complex.
In the next few weeks and months we
are also planning to open up the
blog to many of the teams and clubs
using our facilities so that they
can update the blog with news of
their activities and achievements.
The blog can be accessed either
directly or via the wellington-sport.org.uk
homepage. Visitors can also find a
feed of all the latest postings on
the righthand side of the homepage. |

Holiday opening hours
The Wellington School holidays have
now started as have our holiday
opening hours. Here's a complete
list of our opening times:
Monday-Thursday 6.45am-10.00pm
Friday 6.45am-9.00pm
Saturday 8.30am-6.00pm
Sunday 12.00pm- 7.00pm
Summer opening hours will continue
until Tuesday 2 September. |

RFUW choose Wellington for
Performance Camp
The Rugby Football Union organised
their recent South West Women's
Rugby High Performance Camp at
Wellington School and the Princess
Royal Sports Complex. Over 30 of the
region's top women's senior and
junior players made use of the
School facilities for the camp over
the weekend 12/13 July. |

Marathon record attempt at the PRSC
Wellington enjoyed its very own
marathon on Sunday as PRSC fitness
member, Rob Moysey made at an
attempt on the British indoor rowing
record for the marathon distance (a
whopping 42,195 metres). Rob
completed the distance in a time of
3 hours 7 minutes and 12 seconds, a
great performance, though not quite
enough to take the record.

PRSC on BBC Somerset Sound
BBC reporter, Pete Simson, got to
try his hand at various Olympic
sports at the PRSC on a recent visit as he
reported on Wellington School's
selection as a Pre-Games Training
Camp venue. He received expert
coaching from Paralympic fencing
coach, Cefi Felletar, former
national handball team player, JJ
Rowland, and wrestler, Steve Bayliss,
who competed in the 1984 Olympic
Games in Los Angeles.
