About Us
The Princess
Royal Sports Complex is a £2.6 million
indoor sports centre in Wellington,
Somerset. Facilities include a large sports
hall with seating for 150 spectators,
fitness room, gymnasium, sports medicine
room and seminar rooms.
Opened in September 2002 by HRH The Princess
Royal, the Sports Complex is fully owned and
managed by Wellington School.
Pupils and staff from Wellington School and
Wellington Junior School make full use of
our facilities with PE lessons, sports
coaching, A-level teaching and staff,
day-pupil and boarders recreation taking
place throughout the day. Visit the

Open to the
Community
Outside of school hours and during the
school vacations, Wellington School opens up
its indoor sports facilities at The Princess
Royal Sports Complex and Astroturf pitch to
the local community, sports clubs and
regional and national governing bodies of
sport.
Bookings and
Activities
Facilities at the Sports Complex and also
the Astroturf pitch can be booked on a
weekly or one-off basis for activities such
as football, badminton, cricket nets and
meetings as well as for sports events.
We also offer a wide range of activities for
children and adults including fitness
membership, circuit training, fitness
classes, junior badminton coaching,
beginners fencing, trampolining and
children's parties.
Events
Wellington School is able to host a wide
range of sporting and non-sporting events.
Additional facilities available include a
Performing Arts Centre, indoor swimming
pool, tennis courts, squash courts, playing
fields as well as accommodation and catering
for large and small events, meetings,
training camps and courses.
Events hosted at The Princess Royal Sports
Complex have included English Junior
Wrestling Championship, GB Wrestling
Training Camp, Somerset Activity and Sports
Partnership (SASP) Residential Sports Camp,
SeriousBall Basketball Camps, Somerset
Badminton Championships, South West Fencing
Championships and SeeAbility Ten Mile Road
Race,
Kids Camps
We regularly organise
'Kids Camps', activity days for children
aged 8 - 15 years of age. We offer a wide
variety of sports and activities each
holiday including: archery, arts and crafts,
Commando Camp, cricket, dance and drama,
fencing, football, hockey, rugby and tennis.
